Founder Dave Venable was raised by Dr. David Clay Venable, a beloved College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Science teacher at Colorado State University, and Patrica Venable; Jungmeyer , a well known and loved member of the Fort Collins academic and music community. Though raised on the road and Oklahoma, Dave moved to Fort Collins to follow his father’s teaching career at CSU. There he attended high school at Fort Collins High School graduating in 1976. Dave went on to receive a Bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University. Working with various crews from Cheyenne to Winter Park, Dave accumulated a resourceful and tenured experience with paint contracting. After establishing himself within the professional community Dave founded D&D Painting and began working as a solo operation in 1996.

Twenty years later (2016) Dave hired on his sons to work for him as laborers for the company. With one son working part time due to being active reserved with the United States Army, youngest brother Creighton stepped into a contributing role. Quickly learning to paint successfully and efficiently Creighton also began to emerge himself in the day-to-day operations of the company. With a proven skill for the work and establishing his own customer base Creighton became Junior Partner in 2018. Since then the company has nearly doubled it’s average work load and clientele.
